Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am suffering from Psoriasis for last ten years. It was managed in the past through homeopathic medicines and intermittently through allopathic medicines. Now allopathic doctor has prescribed FOLITRAX 25 mg once in a week for six weeks. I have never taken this and similar other medicine before. I want to know short term and long term side effects of this medicine and also whether it is advisable to take this medicine when my condition is not so severe. This is also to mention that I have Fistula problem also.
Understanding your concern . As per your query you have psoriasis . Psoriasis is a chronic skin disorder in which body's immune system overreacts to produce inflammation and flaky skin .
It is very important to avoid trigger factor and consult dermatologist for proper examination and treatment .Doctor may prescribe steroids .
Also apply cold compresses on rashes to reduce redness and itchiness .I would suggest you to use cream containing Vitamin A and D ,sulfur ,lactic acid and tar products .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
