Suggest Treatment For Psoriasis In Nostril

Hello, Dr. Prasad: What kind of doctor should I see now that the psoriasis seems to be in my nostril? Originally, it was on my forehead, one side of my hairline, and in both ears. (one month now) My eyelash seems to be turning sideways even though I use, per my opthamologist, OcuSoft Eyelid Scrub pads. Do I see my dermatologist? primary care? ENT? Can you recommend a psoriasis specialist in the Chicago area? Thank you in advanced for your professional responses. Rita

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have psoriasis in nostril . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like ultraviolet radiation photosensitivity , skin flora, particularly the yeast malassezia , smoking , alcohol consumption and certain medications including lithium . I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may order physical examination or skin biopdy . Doctor may prescribe Steroid creams , low-potency corticosteroids like hydrocortisone 1% ointment , tacrolimus or pimecrolimus . Doctor may also recommend warm saline nasal rinses . For now avoid sun exposure and other triggers like dust .
