Suggest Treatment For Pre Cancerous Polyp
I had a colonoscopy and it found one polyp that was examined and found to be severe precancerous and contained dysplasia. I am 67 white, and never had a colonoscopy before. my mother had colon cancer twice. it went into remission??? and then came back about 7 years later. she had colon removal twice and the second time she had a colonostomy. she died at age 90 fourteen years ago.. what does this tell me?

You are at some risk for colon cancer because of your family history and detection of a precancerous polyp. All you need to do is get periodic colonoscopies to remove any future polyps that may develop. Colon cancer is slow growing, so after a certain age you may not need further colonoscopies. You have longevity in your family, so avoiding development of colon cancer by periodic checks will help you survive to a good and healthy age. Hope this helps.
