Suggest Treatment For Pimples With Pus On Shoulder

I had recently went on a 2 day kayaking trip, and had not put the recommended amount of sunscreen, and had therefore led to severe sun burns on my shoulders. 1 day after coming back from the trip, a pimple has formed that seems to be filled with puss, what do I do to remove it?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pimple with pus on shoulder. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to certain reasons

- sunburn
- hematoma
- local infection
- folliculitis .

I would suggest you to apply warm compresses to it to increase the blood supply which in turn heal the pimple , take ibuprofen as anti inflammatory and apply over the counter antibiotics cream twice a day . If condition doesn't get well then consult your surgeon and discuss the condition with his/her . Doctor may drain the pus surgically under local anesthesia , prescribe antibiotics like clarithromycin along with vitamin supplement for quick healing .
