Suggest Treatment For Pimples On The Lips Post An Unprotected Intercourse

Fordyce, bitten lip, or herpes? It on the top lip around the corner it looked like it was bruised by my canine tooth but it is questionable considering I had unprotected sex 2 weeks ago. It's on the side I sleep on and there are a couple pimples on that side of the mouth. I use a lot of oil in my food, so it could be that. I popped the " pimples" and it was a white string like any other pimple. But the one spot on my lip is odd it doesn't itch but hurts slightly.. Can u help me out?

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns. As per your complain if you had unprotected intercourse 2 weeks ago and now you have blisters on the corner of the lips, then it can probably be herpes. It is a viral infection caused commonly after unprotected intercourse with infected individual.

It can also be a bacterial infection if you did not copulate with an infected partner. For confirmation, consult an Infectious Medicine Specialist or an Oral Physician and get evaluated. A thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like blood tests, viral culture and microscopic examination of scrapings from the lesion can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly. As of now, if there is itching you can apply numbing gel containing Lignocaine and do cool compresses over it. Avoid picking or touching the lesions again and again.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Honey Arora
