Suggest Treatment For Pimples On The Chin

My brother cut open his chin during a baseball game and had to get stitches. It has been about a month and it seemed like it was healing well, but now there seems to be a few white bumps on the stitch line that look like pimples. What are they? And what should we do?

Hi,

The white bumps you refer to on stitch line. Seems to be an infection in the wound which looks like pimples because it's an infection of hair roots along the stitch line.

Though pimples usually get ripe; open to discharge little pus & heal automatically (if not disturbed or artificially pricked in to open them), here the infection is along stitch line &delay in healing may result in gaping of wound or injection whole wound itself causing a bad scar on face.

You need antibiotics & proper care of the wound to avoid such complications. Please consult your family physician-specific advise &prescription of antibiotic.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
