Suggest Treatment For Pimples Around The Private Area

Hi Im a teenager(male) and I think I have pimples around my pubic area. They don't hurt or itch but there just always there. I do wash regularly around my pubic area but they don't go away. Sometimes I squeeze them and white stuff comes out like regular pimples. Is this normal?

Hello,

You are suffering from pimples around your private area. You are a male(teenager). They do not hurt but are always there. Skin pimples on the pubic area may be caused by a razor. Some hairs may grow back towards the skin and into the hair follicles after shaving, causing skin bumps. You may also use hydrocortisone cream which soothes skin and reduces the irritation and redness. Do not squeeze or scratch. Folliculitis also causes skin pimples due to excess sweating and tight clothes. Take care of your hygiene with antibacterial soap.

Avoid wearing tight clothes. Molluscum contagiosum manifests with similar symptoms. It spreads through sexual intercourse or towels and clothes sharing with an infected person. Apply ointment containing tretinon for relief. Poor hygiene and a warm, moist climate increase risk of infection. Jock itch affects the groin region, keep your groin clean and dry. It is caused by a fungus. Treatment includes application of a topical antifungal cream (Clotrimazole) and wearing loose, cotton clothes. If sexually active, avoid sex while you are being treated.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
