Suggest Treatment For Pimples And Itching On Scalp
I am on Coumadin and have been for a few years; I have had pimples and itching on my scalp, and once ended up in emergency room with my head on fire. Dermatologists could not find anything wrong, even after taking samples with a needle and trying to grow bacteria. Nothing. Went to dermatolgist again. The hairdressers don t say anything, but I know that are questioning it. Very embarrasing. What is causing this, is it Coumadin? What can be done?
I can understand your concern for pimples and itching on scalp.
You have not given us an idea regarding your age and related medical condition so that I could have helped you better.
I can get from your history that you the problem since quite long and had gone for multiple tests for the boils on scalp. It appears that you have recurrent folliculitis. In your kind of cases I prefer to go for culture and sensitivity of the pus. After the sensitivity reports I give a course of oral antibiotics to prevent the infection. For the pain sensation if any I suggest my patients to take paracetamol or diclofenac for once or twice daily.
I suggest you to wash your scalp regularly and maintain a good hygiene of the scalp area.
All the best.
