Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I have been diagnosed with pilonidal cyst (abscess) and have been vomiting since July. I have pain on my sides and problems using the restroom. At this time I have no PCP and feel I may have a underline issue. I have been to the ER and URGENT CARE numerous times this month, it has been told that we need to operate. What else could it be?
A pilonidal cyst is an abscess or boil. Treatment may include antibiotics, hot compresses and topical treatment with depilatory creams. In more severe cases, it needs to be drained or lanced, to heal. Like other boils, it does not get better with antibiotics.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Monish De, Oncologist
