General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
I understand your query.
- Non responding / recurring yeast infection can occure due to few things which alter vaginal PH & make the yeast survival easy . They are- taking antibiotic / Hormone therapy or pregnancy, Diabetes or Hiv infection. So management of these things with your doctor's advise along with treatment of yeast infection is needful.
Another factor ,which needs to be considered is - infection of the sex partner. So treatment of both sex partners at the same time & observing abstinence till infection is cured is important.
Both oral pills along with vaginal pessaries ( metranidazole or Flucanozole) / maintaining good genital hygiene & treatment of both sex partners and managing other precipitating factors will help you.
Thanks.
