I have a persistent cough, subjective fevers since Nov 20th. Had been diagnosed with acute upper respiratory, acute bronchitis and flu. was on zpack and tamiflu. on nov 30 went back to urgent care and was put on bioxin 2 times daily. Went to doc yesterday as I am not feeling well still, still have cough and still getting temps up to 100. Had pa and lateral view xray of chest. No pneumothorax, lungs are clear. Are testing for valley fever as I am a native to Arizona.

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
In my opinion you should consult pulmonologist first and get done
1. Clinical examination of respiratory system
2. PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
Possibility of bronchitis is more in your case because of recurrent cough, fever and not improving with routine antibiotics.
So we need to rule out bronchitis first.
PFT will also tell you about severity of the disease and treatment is based on severity only.
So get done PFT.
You may need inhaled bronchodilators and antihistamines.
So consult pulmonologist and first diagnose yourself and then start appropriate treatment.
