Hi,

Around 30% patients, after a stroke may experience muscle and joint pain like spasticity or stiffness. A stroke can damage the muscle controlling nerves and muscles become stiff, tightened up as well as resist stretching which can be painful. Again, Hifenac-MR contains two pain relieving medications like Aceclofenac as well as paracetamol and a muscle relaxant like chlorzoxazone that is used to treat muscles and joint pain, muscle stiffness or spasm etc.

This medication may take 30-60 minutes to reduce pain and stiffness after taking this medication. If someone doesn't notice any improvement after few doses of this medication, then he or she should consult the prescribing doctor promptly and the doctor may change this medication.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hello,

If she is taking her medicines regularly, then calf muscle pain and stiffness should not appear. Only reason for pain and stiffness is due to reduced mobility of knee joint and leg which can cause stiff muscles. Physiotherapy will help to relieve pain and stiffness.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
