Suggest Treatment For Persistent Bursitis Of The Left Hip

I have been suffering from bursitis of the left hip for about 1 1/2 years. I receive a cotizone injection every 3-4 months which has very minimal and short lived effect. I have been thru physical therapy which had a slightly positive effect. I soak in hot tubs every night and often sleep with a heating pad and rub on an icy/hot ointment. Ice treatments had no effect whatsoever and increased the pain. I have good days and bad and can t pinpoint what helps or hurts. I m desperate for a cure. thank you, john

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As of now you can use analgesics/anti inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/seratiopeptdase for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persists you can consult an orthopaedician and get evaluated. In rare scenarios surgical correction may be required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
