Suggest Treatment For Persistent Back Pain

Hello doctor, the top of my femur bones(where they insert into the hip joint) stick out really wide. I find it very uncomfortable when I sleep. They begin to ache no matter how soft the mattress. Due to the angle they stick out at, it forces my hips to tilt when I m lying on my side, which causes a lot of back pain. I do sleep with a pillow between my knees but it doesn t change the tilt that is caused by the wide greater trochanter bones, as they sit lower than the hip. Is there any way to have these bones shaved down? I would imagine it s a very rare surgery, but it would be life changing to me. My cousin also suffers from this and complains bitterly.

Hello,

Analgesics, anti-inflammatory drugs, muscle relaxants and other medications can be used to help control chronic back pain.

Physical therapy for chronic back pain may include: Retraining your posture. Testing the limits of pain tolerance.

Stretching and flexibility exercises. Aerobic exercises. Core strengthening.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
