Suggest Treatment For Perirectal Abscess

I had I&d surgery for a perirectal abscess. all went well, no fistula was located. healing has gone well the last 4 weeks, but when the final skin layer forms, it has torn off/ burst twice and it is a serous/blood leak. what is taking so long for this to heal? and is their something else happening that is delaying full recovery? I was told to keep it covered 24/7 then my family doc said leave uncovered while sleeping. why won t the last part heal over?
