Suggest Treatment For Peripheral Neuropathy Spreading To Ankles

I have had peripheral neuropathy for many years now and for no apparent reason. I have tried different drugs and therapy treatments, but nothing has helped. Lately I feel that it is spreading from the bottoms of my feet to my ankles and lower part of my leg. What can I expect in the years to come as far as long term effects, and is there something out there that I should try to get some relief?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.
Welcome to the HCM.
Since first the cause of periphral neuropathy should be sought ,so it can be treated accordingly. As there can be many causes like diabetes, spinal disc problem and nerve irritation supplieng that area because of injury etc.
I would suggest get thorough examination by a Neurologist and get done some routine tests first to rule out any common problem ,like deranged blood sugar level,MRI spine etc .So it can be treated accordingly after ruling out the main cause.
