General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, you should not try to burst it open as it can cause local infection and will further complicate the recovery.

First let the inflammation settle with anti-inflammatory drugs like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen alongwith antibiotics like ciprofloxacin or metronidazole.

Pyodine sits can also help along with laxatives or stool softeners to decrease strain on the area.

If after a weeks follow up, the problem persists, a surgical opinion for incision and drainage can be sought. Local fudic acid cream may also be needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
