Suggest Treatment For Perforated Eardrum Causing Throbbing And Popping In Ear

I have a perforated eardrum, it's a relatively small perforation according to the urgent care doctor I saw two days ago. I am taking antibiotics. Meanwhile, my ear is throbbing, squeaking and popping. Is there something else I should be doing? Thank you.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain perforated eardrum can cause throbbing with pain while popping of ears along with squeaking can be due to Eustachian tube dysfunction or fluid accumulation inside eardrum..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and he can advise you Otoscopic examination of ears..
You can be advised to take antibiotics, decongestant nasal spray and oral tablets along with anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen..
Avoid exposure to loud sounds..
You should also limit excess water exposure like swimming..
Avoid picking the ears.
Do not try to pop the ears in case if you feel congestion in ears..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
