Suggest Treatment For Parasite Infestation On The Skin

i have parasites coming out of my skin. (worms?) i took photos of them with a black light. 2 doctors refused to look at them and labeled my symptoms as delusional parasitosis . i m a highly intelligent 49 year old male with both feet firmly planted in reality. i have ALL the symptoms of Morgellons, but as you probably know is not recognized by the medical community as real. is there some kind of cover up going on here? ~johnnie

I'm sorry for your symptoms, and lack of what you consider to be an acceptable medical response. That being said, I understand from personal experience the psychiatric effect skin conditions can be have, and the consequences. I highly recommend you seek another consultation, and potentially obtain a skin sampling and or biopsy.

I've not seen many cases parasites coming OUT of one's skin. Pinworms can migrate to other parts of the body, but there are several parasites that can infest the skin. Strongyloides are tiny, about 1/10 of an inch long and no thicker than a piece of string. Roundworm is a possibility as well. I suggest a consultation with an Infectious Disease and or Dermatologist. Be more specific on exactly what you see, the symptoms associated (pain, itching?) and if possible bring with you a sample of the parasites in a small container as to better give your physician clinical examples of what exactly is going on.

I truly hope you can find the answer you are looking for. I assure you if it is "Delusional Parasitosis," it it neither something to be ashamed of, nor completely uncommon or irrational. Psychologically; the infection of the human body with parasites forms strong and intense feelings of disgust and discomfort, and this brain activity has close associations to other portions of our grey/white matter involved in imagination, creativity and even paranoia. Kind of like how smells bring back memories better than any other scent, it is because these two portions of the brain overlap with many functions and anatomical locales. Ultimately, to re-emphasize I suggest you try to obtain a full workup from someone you can respect, and if the Delusional Parasitosis diagnosis is indeed legitimate, one who can explain your diagnosis with respect, understanding, and great educational acumen. All the best.
