Suggest Treatment For Palpitations And Anxiety After Taking Xanax
I was given Xanax yesterday for anxiety since I was about to go through a pet scan of long duration of over an hour. I am super claustrophobic and my doctor prescribed this medication. Today, I am having some sort of strange side effect that is making me somewhat mentally uncomfortable. I have palpitations and some anxiety. Is that normal and is it going to last long. Thank you. I would appreciate an answer.
Xanax (alprazolam) has been used to calm you down as you are claustrophobic. If you have finished your PET scan on the same day, then some amount of anxiety and palpitations are acceptable. The symptoms could be a sign of residual anxiety and is showing up as the Xanax is being cleared form the body. If the symptoms are sever and persists beyond a day, I would recommend you to consult your doctor. Hope the above information helps you. Thank you for writing into healthcaremagic.
