Suggest Treatment For Palmar Fasciitis Pain

On Jan. 1st 2014, I developed sudden onset painful palmar fasciitis two weeks following revision surgery on a previous arthrodesis right index finger. (I had wires removed and a titanium screw inserted through the DIP joint). The surgeon told me I had reactive fasciitis...from the trauma of surgery. I have had extensive physiotherapy and just completed a course of Radial shock treatment....but nothing helps. I have sore raised tendons that feel like piano wires. What can I do to improve my condition?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you have reactive palmar fasciitis . As per your doctor it is from the trauma of surgery. Its treatment is rest and analgesic such as ibuprofen. If not responding to this you can try physiotherapy. Mobilization exercises of finger joints may be of help. Hot fomentation can make it more elastic. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. Wishing you good health. Take care.
