General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your friend needs to go to emergency services and have proper examinations and treatment. Swelling of the arm after drug injection may be due to deep vein thrombosis or severe infection and both of these conditions need urgent treatment to prevent serious complications.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj
