Suggest Treatment For Painful,itchy Infection On Skin

I either have the worst yeast infection ever, an atypical case of herpes, or some type of contact dermatitis. I saw my doctor and she is culturing it but says it doesn t look like classic herpes. She called in valtrex and some cream just in case but my pharmacy couldn t fill the cream. I m going to have to wait until Monday for the Rx and the culture results. Can I use any OTC creams or miconazole in the mean time? It is so crazy painful and itchy, and I have to work Saturday and Sunday 12 hour shifts on my feet.

Hello My Dear

Welcome to this website!

I have evaluated your problem and find that your doctor is yet to give you a final verdict.

In such a situation, you should be taking only a safe treatment taking care that none of the suspected conditions worsen because of treatment taken in these days when the diagnosis is pending.

It is a good idea to proceed on the following lines with some variation suited to your preferences;

1 Maintain good hygiene of the affected areas

2 Keep the affected areas dry as moisture encourages yeast infections

3 Taking Fluconazole would be helpful and without any harm to immediately check the growth of yeasts

4 For pain,one can try analgesics and itching cam also be similarly controlled with antihistamines like Cetirizine.

5 Miconazole application is likely to work to your advantage only if it ultimately turns out to be a fungal infection.If Fluconazole is administered then use of Miconazole cream will not matter that much.

I hope you get well and get comfortable with treatment for pain and itching that are bothering you now.

Our best wishes
