Suggest Treatment For Painful Swelling On Cheek After Popping Pimple Near Lip

I woke up Monday morning with a pimple by the corner on lip, I popped the pimple. I woke up today in the morning and my cheek was swollen, it's swollen right by pimple. It's also painful when I touch it and uncomfortable. What's going on? Should I visit my doctor?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain painful swelling on cheek on the area where you have popped a pimple seems to be due to inflammation and spread of infection that has occurred due to popping the pimple without proper aseptic precautions..
I would suggest you to take a short course of antibiotics like Augmentin, anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen, doing cool compresses over the swelling..
Clean the area with antiseptic solution and apply a combination of triple antibiotic ointment and steroid ointment over it..
You should avoid touching the area again and again to prevent further infection..
In case if there is no improvement consult a General physician and get evaluated..
