Suggest Treatment For Painful Lump Under Right Cheek Bone
I took a hard smack to my face a little over a week ago and Broke my nose in two places, now the swelling and bruising is almost gone but under my right cheek bone is a rather large lump that hurts and doesn t seem to be getting smaller. Can you tell me what this might be and what I can do to help heal it?
The swelling and bruising under your cheek bone as you mention in query is hematoma .Basically hematoma is collection of blood outside the blood vessels .Generally it is caused by rupturing of blood vessel wall ,which led to seepage of blood to the surrounding tissues .
Most of the time hematomas go away by there own with some home remedies like taking proper rest ,applying ice packs to affected area thrice a day .keep elevated the affected area above the level of heart and compress the area with the help of bandage .You can also take anti inflammatory like diclofenac .
It will take 2-3 weeks to go away .If it persists more then that period the you should a surgeon ,because blood in hematoma can led to ossification which will make it further complicated .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
