Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
About 5 months ago I noticed a lump the size of a pea in the inner part of my elbow. It has gotten a little bigger but doesn t hurt. I did have a stress test before surgery in May where the nurse tried to insert a needle in that arm, she bruised me pretty bad and had to call a supervisor to insert the needle in the other arm. I really hadn t thought about it, before, but I don t know what else it could be. Do you have any idea. I asked my primary doctor and she said that it could be the above. I am suppose to go back if it doesn t go away. I am concerned.
It is likely related to the trauma experienced a few months ago. Trauma can result in the formation for of fibroid /scar tissue in the area involved. The more intense the trauma, the more likely a lesion will form. This can present in the form of a lump.It can take weeks to months for a lesion to resolve and in some cases, resolution is not complete. If there is any pain, then the use of anti inflammatory medication may help that is naproxen, ibuprofen or voltaren.
I hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Michelle Gibson James
