I recently shaved vaginal area to awaken with a large lump that is very tender to the touch and very painful. The pain is not as bad then when first started but it hurts to move especially when laying down. It this a boil and if so how do get it to come to a head more quickly?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
A tender lump in the vaginal area could be a boil, folliculosis or a Bartholins cyst.
Bartholins cyst is present at the opening of vagina along the labia minors, thus the first two possibilities i.e. boil and folliculosis is more likely.
I suggest you to consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment to make a diagnosis.
Appropriate treatment can be planned after making a diagnosis.
Both boil and folliculosis are caused due to bacterial infection thus an antibiotic will be required to treat the infection.

Thanks and take care
