Suggest Treatment For Painful Lump In Anus

I have lumps in my anus for over 8 months. I checked the condition with a colorectal specialist. He Diagnosed it as Folliculitis. He prescribed an ointment (Povidone-Iodine USP). I have been applying it in the affected area ever since. It has improved the condition, but the lumps have not gone away. I still have mild to moderate pain in the affected area particularly when I walk and when I am seated for a long time. Can you suggest any treatment?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Folliculitis needs to be treated with local application of ointment what the doctor has prescribed. But since you haven't got complete relief, the infection could be deep seated and hence it requires systemic medicines to overcome it.
Kindly take the following medications:
1. Tablet. Amoxicillin + Clavulenate twice daily for 5 days.
2. Tablet. Ibuprofen + Paracetamol twice daily for 5 days after food.
Keep the area clean by washing with mild soap. You can continue to apply ointment. You can take laxatives to avoid constipation.
Your symptoms should heal in about a weeks time.
All the best.
