Suggest Treatment For Painful Bump On Head Post Injury
Yesterday while picking items up off the floor I stood up and turned literally wacking the side of my head of the metal plated corner of the wall. For about ten minutes I had trouble breathing and felt as if I had the wind knocked out of me, my neck and back hurt down the whole right side of my body (hit the right side of my head), after putting ice I hoped the swelling would go down. This morning I woke up after not being able to sleep on that side of my head (pain and pressure occurred when I did) to having a small bump and what feels like swelling still through the side of my scalp. I checked the area and there is no bruises but I am corcetned because after 24 hours my head still hurts and now I am having hearing sensitivities and hearing ringing when I hear sounds or speak. Should I seek medical attention or will some ibuprofen and bed rest do the trick? Not sure how serious this could be considered
By medical protocol any/all head injuries need to be checked by a medical professional for signs of haemorrhage that can result in serious consequences. And although you do not have any serious symptoms that indicate trouble, I would still recommend a physical examination and if your doctor also feels the need then an MRI or CT scan of the head as well.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.
