Suggest Treatment For Pain, Tenderness And Lump In Shin Due To Injury
Hi Dr Siegel, I hit my shins about a month ago really hard on a metal bench. It was extremely painful and I had difficulty walking for the rest of the day. It has been tender to touch ever since and a dark line bruise appeared right away and has not gone away since. My shins also feel very different, there are huge lumps. I was wondering if this is something I should have my doctor check out? I am very much into fitness and go running and I don t want to make it worse.
Hello I have studied your case. I think that there can be collection of the blood in the subcutaneous tissue and this is causing you pain and bump like feeling. I would recommend you to apply hot water fomentation and compression bandage. You should also do gentle calf stretching exercises. There is nothing to be worried though as it will improve and soon you will be completely fine.If there is increase in size of the blister than you can get it aspirated. I hope this answer will be useful for you.Let me know if there is any other followup questions. thanks
