Suggest Treatment For Pain In Throat

i feel like i have a burp stuck in my throat and it is painful. it almost feels as if i were to puke it would go away but i know that isnt the problem. i am unsure of what caused it but this is the second time in a few weeks it has happened. last time it lasted for about 2 days.

Thank you for posting to HCM.

Sore throat may come for different reasons, and according to the cause it needs a slightly different treatment.
-- If you have fever and the neck lymphonodes are painful it may be strep throat, a bacterial infection that will need and antibiotic to heal and to not turn into a chronic infection. Seek a doctor if that is the case. You will need a prescription to take the antibiotic in the pharmacy.
-- Take Ibuprofen 400mg as needed for the symptomatic treatment of pain.
-- Sometimes food gets stacked in the folds of the tonsils and that turns into a stone that after some time becomes painful. Gargles with salt and lemon helps remove these stones and also helps the pain.
-- It may last up to 3-5 days if the cause is viral or bacterial.
