Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Toe Due To A Possible Insect Bite

Hi, I was walking on a beach early last week and something came in between my big toe and the toe right beside it. Now, that area on the 2nd toe is swelling and in a lot of pain. I have to wear open toed shoes. Could it be a blister and how can I treat it. Thank you!

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern....

As per your complain it seems that you have been bitten by any poisonous insect and it has led to hypersensitivity reaction at the site of bite and it is leading to redness, itching and swelling and even there can be pain..
You need not to worry as gradually when the effect of the sting will wean off the reaction will subside..
You can take Allegra which is an anti-allergic medicine and will relieve itching..
Take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen..
For localized relief apply 1% Hydrocortisone ointment over the sting site as it will reduce inflammation and itching locally and provide relief..
Cold packs will also help by reducing inflammation..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
