Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Ankle
While running errands today, I could walk normally until suddenly while walking in the grocery store, I felt some discomfort in my left ankle. I continued walking until I heard a snap in my ankle and then significant pain. I cannot walk normally and cannot transfer my weight from my leg to the ball of my foot without severe discomfort in my ankle.

The pain you describe is a mechanical pain resulting from your activities.It could be caused by Sprain/strain or stress fracture.I will suggest:
-You take a pain drug like ibuprofen
-Apply a local pain gel like voltarene
-Cold pack placement if pain intense
-Rest well
If the pain persists, you see the Doctor for an ankle X ray to eliminate a fracture due to stress(stress fracture).
