Hi,I am Dr. Radhakrishna (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have pain in my lower right abdomen that is radiating toward my belly button it is a sharp stabbing pain that has been there about 8 hours. I also have blood when I use the bathroom on the toilet tissue. Is this something I should go to E R over or can this wait until next week when I go to the doctor. Pain is moderate nothing I cannot handle and is made worse by standing straight up
Hi. Thanks for your query. Also thanks for the very specific history. The most probable reasons for such a pain that sharp and stabbing in the right lower abdomen and radiating towards belly button with blood on toilet paper is suggestive of : -Stone in the right ureter or -Appendicitis.
This can be easily diagnosed on clinical examination by a Surgeon and a simple ultrasonography.
Get this done along with routine blood, urine ans stool tests and the diagnosis will lead to a proper treatment .
