Suggest Treatment For Pain In Leg And Hip
I am 76yrs old, got hit at a red light,had xrays and several mri's have bulging disc in neck and lower back. the pain in neck is just that, and my right hip aches as does my lower back, neck and shoulder.I have been given a shot in hip for pain, and will be going to phy. therapy., How long does healing take, right now, if I drive the pressure of the seat of my car hurts my back and I have trouble getting my right leg into the car,as my hip hurts please, answer, thank you Joan

You should know that in case of a lumbar bulging disk the pain is triggered by sitting or standing up position.
So, it is quite normal to have pain while driving in the car.
Physiotherapy can help manage the pain, as well as painkillers.
But, if the pain persists, and surgery is out of discussion (if you have already discussed about this with a spine surgeon), I would recommend starting gabapentine or amitriptyline (if no contraindications) to help as a chronic management of back pain.
