Suggest Treatment For Pain In Ear

Hi, I am 27 years of age, weight 190 lbs, and height is 5'3", and no medical problems. I have been having a slight ear ache, side of face around ear has been sore, and jaw has been slight sore also. To which I figure has to do with my allergies. But today I noticed a small lump behind my ear. Its not hard, just real soft, and its not even sore. Just wondering if you had any answers to what the lump might be.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain mild pain in ear radiating to area around eae and jaw and a soft lump behind the ear are all indicative of Ear infection and the lump seems to be swollen post auricular lymph node secondary to infection..
In case if it is not due to infection causing inflamed lymph nodes the other causes can be lipoma or a sebaceous cyst and both are harmless..
You should consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and an Otoscopic examination can help in confirming the cause and treatment can be planned accordingly..
In case of infection antibiotics Oral as well as ear drops,anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen and warm compresses around ear will relieve..
As of now you can take Tylenol or Ibuprofen for relief..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
