Suggest Treatment For Pain In Ear And Throat Along With Headaches

Hi, I have had pain in my left ear and throat and headache (in the left side of my head only) for over 2 weeks now. I went to the walk in clinic on 6/12/15 (12 days ago) and I was given Amoxicillin twice a day for 10 days and over the counter Claritin for my sinusitis, I took it exactly as directed. I finished the bottle 2 days ago and I still have pain and yellow spots in the left side of my throat, in addition, I am now feeling dizzy and chills all over my body, cold hands and feet (unusual to me here at 92 degrees).

Hello,
Thanks for the concern. According to history you have left sided ear and throat pain along with left sided headache. It suggest that you have severe throat infection which also spread to the left ear through eustachian tube.
You had taken medicine for 10 days but still have the same complaints. SO i think you have to do complete blood count (total WBC count ) which will help you to know whether you have infection or not.
So now again consult your treating physician and start higher antibiotics like combination of cephalosporin and clavulinic acid for better result in infection. For fever and headache you should take pain killers with paracetamol.
Moreover you can also do hot water gargles with salt & turmeric powder atleast twice daily but if you have high blood pressure than avoid salt in hot water gargles. Avoid cold drinks & icecream. Also you should take hot steam twice daily which help in sinusitis and reduce your headache.
