Suggest Treatment For Pain In Back And Leg Of A Child
My son (12 yrs) has been dealing with neck and back pain for about three years. We saw a pediatrict orthopediac about a year and a half ago and all he did was treat with Ibuprofen for six weeks and tell us it would go away. That was looking at x-rays that showed something in his neck area that was infection or inflamation and the disc was tilted. So then we went back to his pediatrician who recommended chiropractor. After 6 months his pain has not improved but now has moved totally down the back and he is now complaining of leg pain.

Understand your concern and sympathize with your child, he must be bearing pain for so long. Sounds to me like that your child is suffering from cervical spondilitis which is a chronic problem and is hard to respond to medical therapy. As you would have experienced , the pain decreases only for a short duration when on treatment. If I were your pediatrician, I would advice you to consult a good physiotherapist and have a long term therapy with them. That along with medications are known to be of great help. Please continue followup with orthopedician also. Hope child gets well soon. Take care.
