Suggest Treatment For Pain Due To Diabetic Neuropathy
My husband has severe diabetic neuropathy and amitriptyline is very helpful in giving him some comfort. His primary M.D. just increased his dose from 25 mg. qd. to 25mg. b.i.d. but refuses to increase it to t.i.d. because it will mess him up My husband is level headed and not much for drugs of any kind. He is 68 years and strong as an ox. He also takes gabepenton b.i.d. and clonazepam b.i.d. but he still suffers a lot. I would like your opinion. My husband is very stubborn and so is his Dr. but he likes his Dr. and that is not an easy accomplishment. E-mail = YYYY@YYYY
Hello, Welcome to HCM I am Dr Rakesh Sharma answering your query. I can understand your concern about your husband. He is being treated very well, but you have not mentioned any preparation containing Vitamin B complex vitamin B12 or\and Methylcobalamin. If they are not being given you can add those. They are only supplements but do wonders in patients with diabetic neuropathy. Vitamin B12 supplemented food available in market are synthetic , and does not give desired result. Hope he responds to this. Good luck.
