Suggest Treatment For Pain Caused Post Spinal Fracture

I am currently taking 10 mg. Oxycodone given to me for a compression spinal fracture of L2 about 3 years ago. It is only helping the pain for about 3 hours. I get into extreme pain without it and I cannot stand up straight. I don t want to have back surgery, so where do I go from here?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

In the case of spinal fracture, pain is much and usually, Tramadol or Oxycodone like an opioid group of the drug only work.

I suggest you to get your surgery done for that fracture that is the only curative definite treatment.

You can Consult orthopedic surgeon for that. Nerve block also latest treatment option for pain relief. No other mode of treatment is available.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
