Suggest Treatment For Pain And Swelling At The Site Of Insect Bite

Hello, Well my daughter either got stung or it was a bit from a bee last night and she was at a sleep over, but she does have an EPI pen but more so for the yellow jacketsbut was give zertec to take as an emergent if the other stung her. The problem was she didn't have that but they mother gave her benederyl at first my daughter said it hurt really bad, she is 16 and it was red and swollen then it was spreading but no signs of swollening in the eyes, throat, or mouth reason we did not head to the ER last night she has been find all day just complaining on the spot it stung her and some numbness on the forward side of her arm about 2 inches above. That numbness is just local not radiating

The numbness may remain for 24 to 36 hours but it should significantly decrease after this.

It is a reflection of the inflammation that occurred as a result of the insect sting.

If she wishes, she can use another dose of the antihistamine. Benadryl can be used every 4 to 6 hours or she can use a different antihistamine.
