Hi Aaron!
Ringing sensation in the ear can be due to various reasons like exposure to loud noises on a daily basis like going to concerts, live music, work environment, listening to songs with high volume using ear phones, etc. Some times other causes like ear infections may also present with ringing sensation. Signs to watch out for are ear pain, discharge, fever, dizziness, etc.
It is also important to clear the ear wax from time to time. Try to be gentle while clearing the wax. Avoid any entry of water into the ear. Using rubbing alcohol may help loosen the wax. Avoid using Q tips, car keys, house keys to pick the ear. Consider getting an ear examination by the ENT.
