Suggest Treatment For Pain And Numbness In Toes In A Diabetic Patient

Sir
I m 54 yr fit and healthy person and picked up first time with diabetes Fasting Blood Glucose 130 and Post Prandial Blood Glucose 187 on 23/04/2011; and with brisk walk, exercises and life style I have brought Post Prandial Blood Glucose sugar level to 131 on 26/09/2011after consultation with MD (Gen. Med.) Dr. Urine acetone is absent. I m not on any sort of medicine. Dr. has suggested me not to worry and get the test after 6 months and consult him.
I m regularly following brisk walk, exercises and life style. Now my thumb (toe) sometimes become slightly bluish and aches and second last finger has developed slight numbness; sole also burns.
Can you please suggest me further action in this regard and if possible a Dr. Diabetologist / Endocrinologist preferably in Gandhinagar otherwise in Ahmedabad Gujarat. And how Diabetologist / Endocrinologist are different in their profession and who is better for this task.

Your blood glucose levels seems to be well controlled, but because your toe and feet problems resemble microvascular injuries, its better get HbA1c report, and go for strict glycaemic controll. I would advice you consult a endocrinologist or physician with endocrine experitise.
