General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the persistence of ear infection with swollen lymph nodes might be in concern with various possibilities as:
- Drug resistance organism
- Incorrect diagnosis
- Hidden inner ear pathology not revealed upon clinical examination
- Internal brain pathology manifesting as out ear infection
- Uncontrolled diabetes
- Other immune compromised states as HIV or others

However, a details of your current and past therapy can be helpful to evaluate here before proceeding for further comments and guidelines. If any ear discharge is noticeable, a culture swab of the same as well as fasting blood sugar and total white cell counts would be best needed at this point of time.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
