Suggest Treatment For Obesity In An Elderly Person

I an a 72 year old female and overweight. I am 5 6 and weigh 268 lbs. I have a hard time walking because of arthritis in my knees and I get short of breath going up or down stairs or just walking across a parking lot. I joined a weight loss group many years ago and STILL have not reached my ideal weight.

There are many causes of overweight such as increased food consumption without increasing physical activity, high junk food, Cushing’s syndrome, and hypothyroidism. There are many more uncommon causes.
Advice
1.     Continue work out. Start with a balanced mix of cardio, weight training and flexibility exercises
2.     Avoid eating high energy foods such as cakes, chocolates, chips etc.
3.     Avoid alcohol/beer and smoking
4.     Increase consumption of high fiber diet such as wheat bread, dry date, vegetables etc
5.     Drink 3 – 4 liters of water daily
6.     Chew the food properly to make it easily digestible
7.     Avoid excess intake tea and coffee after meal
8.     Divide your meals into smaller portions and eat them frequently during the day
9.     Avoid oily & spicy food
10.     Investigation – lipid profile, Hb%
