nose blockage. having cold in summer. Not able to breathe propely indoors.had operated for sinus 3 years back. During that time, the bone had grown big enough to block my nose from breathing. did it grow again ?what to do ?Any medication so that i can breathe properly during work indoors ?
Hi. Thanks for your query and an elucidate history related to the nasal blockage, sinus surgery 3 years back and removal of the septal bone.
The blockage can be due to allergy, inflammation or infection or psychological affection (part of the vasomotor rhinitis)
I would advise you the following: Keep away form fumes, dust and any instigating factors. Instill intra-nasal Xylometazoline nasal drops and take steam inhalations. Oral decongestant tablets. Short course of steroids if you are not diabetic. Review by the ENT Surgeon and CT scan of the PNS to see if further surgery be necessary or not. Proper control of the stress and anxiety as they have direct bearing upon the nasal blockage in some patients in whom the vaso-motor component is strong.
