Suggest Treatment For Non-itchy Hives In The Collarbones

I have a hive type rash (not itchy) on my collarbone, around my neck to the other collarbone. I also have a red, hot swollen face, very itchy painful eyelids and all over the face. I have not used anything new foods, laundry, lotions. I have been to a clinic and benidrill and cortizone creams did not work. They make my face swell up. I went to ER with the huge swelling and they gave me epi anthistimines steroids and anti biotics. The face swelling went down and the heat of my face and fever of 102 went down. But I still have the bad redness, itchiness and pain like a bad sunburn on my face. YYYY@YYYY

Hi,

The history you provided is suggestive of type 1 hypersensitivity skin reaction leading to angioedema. Antihistamine and steroid shot is immediate treatment. C1 esterase inhibitor assay should be done if no trigger was found.
In resistant cases mast cell stabilizer can be used.
Current symptoms will persist for 1-2 weeks.
Oral an antihistamine like cetirizine and topical mild potent steroids can be used for symptomatic relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ejaz Ahmad, General & Family Physician
