Suggest Treatment For Nocturnal Enuresis

Hi, Dr. Rynne. I have rare instances of nocturnal anuresis, late in sleep, during a dream. I am 60 years old and under great stress, so I think that might be the culprit, but I ve asked my endocrinologist to order an ADH balance check in my next lab work. What do you think?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

At the age of 60 enuresis can be caused by various issues as:
- Severe benign prostatic hyperplasia with overdistended bladder over night
- Sphincter control issues via bladder autonomic neuropathy
- Stress exacerbations
- Spinal cord issues controlling urination mechanics
- Detrusor function disturbances

If the uroflowmetry and ultrasound report are available, I can further guide more precisely for the treatment counter part as well. Though primary relieving agents are Roliten (4) mg and others acting on the bladder mechanics.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
