Suggest Treatment For Neck Pain

I have had horrible neck pain (the back of my neck). I woke up with it this a.m. and thought it was just a stiff neck. But the pain is unbearable. I have applied moist heat all day and no let up. I can hardly move my head. Could it be anything other than a stiff neck ? I have also applied a neck heat wrap that is supposed to provide powerful pain relief plus deep muscle relaxation to no avail. Thanks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern. Your symptoms could be due to cervical muscle spasm, nerve compression. I would suggest to consult the orthopedics and undergo clinical examination and neck x ray and MRI if needed.

Doctor will give following advise for next 5 to 7 days:

- Tablet Etoricoxib + Thiocolchicoside
- Tablet Pregabalin
- Tablet Ranitidine
- Application of Diclofenac (Volini) gel twice daily

Continue to apply heat neck wrap. Isometric neck exercise according to physiotherapist after relieveing pain will be helpful.

Hope this may help you.Contact for further health query.

Best regards,
Dr. Sagar
