Suggest Treatment For Nausea, Stomach Discomfort And Bloating When Diagnosed With Diverticulosis
Diagnosed w/ diverticulosis. Just finished day 5 of 7 taking cipro (500 mg) 2x daily and metronidazole (500 mg) 3x daily. I was impressed the pain in lower left quadrant subsided on 2nd day. But the nausea, stomach discomfort and bloating is almost unbearable. Is it safe to stop Flagyl and finish with cipro or perhaps cut Flagyl in half for some relief. Thank you, in advance for your professional advice.

It sounds like you were diagnosed with diverticulitis. It is not recommended to stop any of the medications and only your physician who prescribed them could tell you this anyway. If your symptoms are returning and not getting better then you need to be reevaluated as sometimes people also develop abscesses from the localized infection. Please seek help today and discuss with your physician or local hospital. Best of luck
